We recommend starting tufting at age 15, as using a tufting gun requires dexterity and caution.
What do I need to get started with tufting?
Here is the essential equipment to get started:
• A tufting gun (cut, loop, or cut and loop model)
• A tufting frame with stretched fabric
• Yarn (wool or acrylic)
• Carpet adhesive
• Tufting fabric and a secondary fabric for the back of the rug

What budget should you plan for to get started with tufting?
Tufting requires some initial investment. To get started, we offer an intermediate kit with the equipment you need to begin under the best conditions.
What glue should I use to secure the yarn to the rug?
We recommend using carpet adhesive to ensure the yarn is securely fixed to the back of your rug. Neoprene spray adhesive can also be used to coat the backing fabric before applying the carpet adhesive.
Can a tufted rug be machine washed?
