Non-slip finishing fabric for tufting

This non-slip finishing fabric is placed on the back of your rugs and tufted creations intended for use on the floor. Also called secondary fabric or backing, it covers the back of your creation while adding a non-slip surface thanks to the silicone dots distributed across the fabric.

Made from 100% polyester with a weight of 250 g/m², it is an alternative to finishing fabric when you want to improve your rug’s grip on the floor.

Benefits of non-slip fabric for tufted rugs

Once your rug is finished, the secondary fabric covers the primary fabric and glue visible on the back. In this version, the silicone dots also add grip between the rug and the floor to help prevent it from moving.

It is therefore particularly well suited to tufted rugs intended for use on the floor. This backing lets you neatly finish the back of your creation while also making it non-slip.

Attaching non-slip fabric to the back of your tufted rug

Start by finishing your tufting and securing the yarn on the back with carpet glue. Wait until the glue is sufficiently dry before moving on to the finishing stage.

Then cut the non-slip fabric, leaving enough material to properly cover the back of your creation. Position it and attach it to the back of your rug, making sure the silicone dots face the floor.

Once everything is securely attached, you can trim the excess fabric and neatly finish the edges.
