5 Tufting Artists to Watch This Week

Each week, we offer a selection of designers who have caught our eye. What do they have in common? They all explore the world oftufting with a unique perspective, whether through tufted rugs, objects, or tapestries.
1. Diga Ruth
Based in Buenos Aires, Diga Ruth composes entire images with her tufting gun. Her works feature elongated figures, stylized faces, and symbols. Each piece resembles a painting, where everything is in dialogue: shapes, colors, textures.
2. Moino Studio
In Brittany, Moino Studio designs hand-tufted pieces for the home: rugs, of course, but also mirrors, boxes, and everyday objects. The universe is soft and organic, inspired by natural shapes and matte colors.
Each object is crafted with patience and simplicity. Nothing is overdone, but everything is carefully crafted. It's a beautiful way to bring handmade craftsmanship and tufting into everyday life.
3. Camilla Iliefski
Camilla Iliefski is a designer and teacher in Sweden. She uses tufting as a visual medium in its own right. Her rugs resemble abstract compositions: large blocks of color, crisp lines, and gentle curves. Her work exhibits a true graphic rigor, but also a sensitivity to materials.
4. Maja Michaelsdotter
In Malmö, Maja Michaelsdotter creates textile works that play with symbols, bodies, and emotions. Fragmented faces, animals, hybrid objects... Each piece is a wool painting, expressive and dense.
5. Itsy0r
Itsy0r 's style is decidedly pop. It features faces, logos, and objects inspired by the internet, all stylized in a flashy palette. Each piece is like a textile illustration: direct, effective, and also funny.
Tufting, an infinite playground
These five artists demonstrate how tufting can be a rich and personal outlet for expression. Whether it takes the form of a rug or an object, this technique offers endless possibilities.
Whether you're just starting out with your tufting gun or you're already into creating, these worlds can nourish your own practice, inspire you, or simply broaden your perspective on what a rug can tell.
