Yes. The AK DUO is suitable for beginners and lets you explore Cut Pile and Loop Pile with a single machine. This kit also includes more materials than our Beginner Tufting Kit, including the trimmer, its guide, and a larger quantity of fabric.

Can you make Cut Pile and Loop Pile with this kit?

Yes. The AK DUO lets you work with cut pile and loop pile using a single machine. You can also combine both techniques in the same creation.

What is the difference between Cut Pile and Loop Pile?

In Cut Pile, the machine cuts the yarn to form soft, dense pile. In Loop Pile, the yarn remains in loops, creating a more textured finish.

What frame size should I choose?

The 70 × 70 cm is more compact and requires less workspace. The 90 × 90 cm offers a larger surface for making bigger creations.

How much fabric is included?

The kit includes 4 × 1 m of primary fabric and 4 × 1 m of finishing fabric, for a total of 8 meters of fabric.

Are the trimmer and its guide included?

Yes. A trimmer and its guide are included to even out the pile and finish your Cut Pile creations.

Which yarns can be used with the AK DUO?

You can use our acrylic tufting yarn or our New Zealand wool, depending on the material, colors, and finish you’re looking for.
