Q/A Tufting, we answer your questions!
WHY DOES THE THREAD NOT STAY IN THE FABRIC?
Sometimes when you start tufting, the yarn comes off the tufting gun and slips, what if this happens?
1. Push harder. The foot of the machine must remain in contact with the fabric for the duration of the gesture.
2. Make sure you are tufting in the correct direction, i.e. bottom up.
3. Your tufting fabric may be of inferior quality.
4. Your fabric is not tight enough, it should be as tight as possible. Re-stretch it as much as possible on your wooden frame.
WHY DOES MY FABRIC TEAR EVERY TIME?
If the tufting fabric tears with each pass, we have three reasons for this:
1. You may be using an inferior fabric, we advise you to look at our tufting fabric on letufting.fr, it has been tested with all our machines and is specially designed for this practice.
2. You are moving the machine in the wrong direction. Avoid making curves at the beginning of your use. If you can make curves and round shapes, do it with vertical or horizontal lines.
3. Still a fabric tension problem, we advise you to tighten it.
WHY MY MACHINE WILL NOT TURN OFF?
If your machine won't turn off, there may be too much pressure on the trigger. To solve this problem, simply unscrew the top screw of the handle. This should release the pressure and allow the trigger to work again.
WHY ARE THE LOOPS NOT A CONSTANT LENGTH?
To have perfect curls, follow the guide!
1.The fabric you are using may not be the correct one for tufting. Either it is not strong enough, or its weave is too loose or too tight.
2. Your tufting gun is sitting on the fabric too long in one place, so the machine is pushing more than one loop into a single hole.
3. The pressure of the machine against the fabric is not constant.
WHY IS MY MACHINE BEEPING?
This problem can most likely be solved by oiling the moving parts of the machine. Do not hesitate to get a machine oil. Focus on the square, white bearings at the top and bottom of the machine. Add a few drops of home sewing machine oil to both sides of the bearing and turn on the machine. Do this several times until the machine works properly.
